1. The words spec'-suspect, 'kase-because, and gwyne-going were sometimes difficult for me to decipher.
2. Jim is superstitious in many ways. One way is that he thinks handling snake's skin is bad luck. And Huck is also superstitious in many ways. But one of the ways is that he thinks if you knock salt over, you have to throw it back over your left shoulder.3. 2. Jim with the "majic hair-ball". In addition, when Huck spills the salt and tries to throw it over his shoulder shows he has some superstition in him.
3. He pretty much states that Huck's father as of right now is confused and is not sure what he is going to do - "Yo' old father doan' know yit what he's a-gwyne to do. Sometimes he spec he'll go 'way, en den ag'in he spec he'll stay."
4. Pap has a very dirty "grundgy" look - he never really takes the time to dress himself or try to be all that clean - he is always in worn out, run down, clothes with holes in them.

4. Pap is and old, worn, dirty, and is said to wear tattered clothing. He is not fond of Huck and his education. He thinks that since Huck now knows how to read and write, he thinks that he will be better than him and the rest of his family. He signed an agreement with the judge and escaped that very night and became drunk.

4. Pap is old looking and disheveled. His hair is grey and his clothes are tattered. He doesn't want Huck to be educated because he doesn't want Huck to be smarter than him. His attempt to stay sober lasted about a day. The next day he was drunk and hung over as usual.

The reason he sobers up is so that the Judge will see him as an okay father for Huck, however we see many signs that show he is not able to control his drinking habits.

He doesn't like Huck's education because he believes that Huck will believe himself to be better than his father and the rest of his family before him. His view on government is pretty bad. He believes the government is horrible for allowing African-Americans vote and letting blacks be free for 6 months. Therefore he vows never to vote again. Lastly, his attempts to get sober failed. He traded in his newly aquired coat for whiskey and destroyed the room that the friendly judge had given him.
